Why to Gokyo-ri-trek?
Gokyo Ri trek is a trek mostly suitable for people with a previous experience at trekking in Everest region but couldn’t get enough of it. That’s not to say that someone new shouldn’t try it; in fact, quite the opposite. The Gokyo Ri trek is a relatively quite trek with the equally picturesque route as the Everest Base Camp trail. The ups and downs of the rocky trail, tranquil forests and roaring river, flat pastures and rugged mountains—the trek is filled with contrasting elements beautifully complementing each other.
Even with the significantly low tourist traffic, it is one of the famous alternative routes to the Everest Base Camp trek. This is a perfect trek for anyone with an intent to try something new in the region. The trail to the Gokyo Ri takes the trekkers to one of the most beautiful lakes in the Everest region: Gokyo lake, in addition to its highlight—Gokyo Ri, which offers a magnificent view of the Everest, the Lhotse, the Makalu, the Cho Oyu, and some other smaller mountains. Apart from being drowned in the majesty of the natural wonders, the trekkers also get a chance to see the world-famous Sherpa people and experience their unique hospitality and culture, making the entire experience even more memorable.
