Why Annapurna Circuit Trek?
It is ineffably hard to rank as to which trek is the best in Nepal. But, that being said, if there is one trek that often tops every best-treks lists around the internet, it’s the Annapurna Circuit Trek. The trek, also commonly known as Round Annapurna Trek (RAT), circumnavigates the Annapurna range leading the travelers through some of the iconic river valleys, green pastures and beautiful moss-covered rhododendron and oak forests, pine and juniper enveloped hills and the spell-binding views of some of the world-famous mountains.
Being one of the longest treks in Nepal, the entire 100+ km. trek is not just for the nature worshipper. The trekkers can experience the multitude of ethnic communities throughout the trek and feel uniqueness in their temperament and hospitality, as Nepal is one of the countries with most diverse ethnic communities and famous for their peaceful and harmonious co-existence. Trekkers travel alongside the arrays of prayer’s wheels occasionally stumbling upon the centuries old monasteries; couple this with the peaceful surrounding and the solitude they experience throughout the trek—it is as nearest to being in heaven.
Annapurna Circuit is one of the few trails in the world where the scenery constantly changes making it one of the most exciting trails in the world. Losing and gaining of elevation is recurrent and people can experience sub-tropical humid to high alpine cold in a single journey. Trekkers can visit the Kaligandaki gorge, the quaint village of Manang, the famous Tilicho lake, and the main attraction of the journey: the Thorong la Pass at height 5416 m. Ending the journey by visiting the famous Muktinath Temple is just icing on the cake. It is indeed a remarkable trek to journey through.
