Great Everest Base Camp experience- Date of experience: December 2018

Jim - Mexico At 2019-02-13 23:46:00

White Hill adventures is the best agency to book all your activities throughout Nepal. They are great at organizing all kinds of treks and activities and they take care of every detail until the end. They also book buses, safaris and whatever you might want during your stay in Nepal. Very reliable agency always looking for the well-being and satisfaction of all their customers. I am really glad that I chose them for all my adventures in this beautiful country, they did meet and exceeded my expectations. I did the EBC trek with them and My porter/guide Sagar was great, always looking after me at the mountain and Mr. Naba at their office in Katmandu was great as well. Very nice staff, totally serious agency and they even got the best prices around katmandu (believe me, I did some good market research). I totally recommend this agency to everyone and I will definitely use it again when I come back to Nepal!

I had an amazing time talking to Everest Base Camp. From the minute I met Anuj I knew I was in safe hands. He helped me booking a fantastic guide, my flights and taxis. He took all my insurance details and said he’d have my covered in the worst case scenario, which was very reassuring (especially as a solo traveller). He also went above and beyond to take me to a shop to hire all my kit, telling me (and the Nepali shop staff) exactly what I did and didn’t need - at the right price. As someone who doesn’t speak Nepali, this was extremely helpful He checked in throughout the trip to check I was happy. I’d 100% reccomend booking through White Hill Adventures!!! They’ve been a fantastic help and took all the stress of booking from me.

I traveled to Kathmandu with a friend looking to arrange a trek to EBC. We went to various companies in Thamel but White Hill Adventure was able to give us a personalized package for the best price. Our porter/guide Eka was excellent and really looked after us, particularly when we were suffering from altitude sickness. I would recommend using this company to those planning a trek in Nepal.

After spending a day in Kathmandu hunting down the best price we could for a trip to Everest Base Camp, White Hill Adventure offered us the best deal. We had a great trip with this company and I'm very happy to recommend them! They were extremely helpful in Kathmandu and helped us with renting some equipment (sleeping bags, hiking poles, etc). The guide we were paired with was excellent. Very knowledgeable, and was happy to share his insights on the area with us. Eka (our guide) really made the trip for us, and he was a great companion on the trip. We had a great trek to Everest Base Camp, and I'd happily do it again with these guys!

Everest Base Camp Trek - Date of experience: December 2017

Arshia J - Australia At 2019-02-14 00:34:00

We travelled to Nepal to complete the trek to Everest Base Camp with nothing organised when we arrived in Nepal. We met with Nabaraj, the managing director or White HIll Adventure, to organise a 12-day trek with a private guide/porter. He was very transparent in his breakdown of the pricing and patiently answered all our questions about the trek. We ended up organising a private trek with two people + guide, for much cheaper than booking with a large tour group. We were able to speak to our guide on the phone before the trek as well. Nabaraj even helped us out with recommending local stores where to buy/rent our trekking gear and helping us find atms in the area. We were also able to leave our excess luggage with him during the trek. Our trek guide, Pemba, was very friendly and knowledgeable with about 25 years of experience. He guided us on which tea houses to stay in each night and which foods to avoid. On the second day of the trek, we decided that we would like a porter for the rest of the journey and he organised this for us as well. Overall, really happy with the organisation, cost and customer service provided by White HIll Adventure.

Please note that on treks most of the lodge with common restroom and bathrooms, as in high altitude due to harsh cold climate and terrain where toilet flush might not work due to freezing plumbing systems, on this situations please bear with us, as we will try our best to make you comfortable with enjoyable trips keeping you satisfied, people who wish upgrading the standard of hotels in Kathmandu and in lodge or guest-house on treks, please notify us beforehand and we will try to adjust according to your request.
Where in Kathmandu all hotels are in tourist standard based on bed and breakfast biases from one to three stars as per the trip cost, where welcome or farewell dinner included as per the itinerary and trip cost stated.

This kind of facilities applies in all Everest region, where remote areas like Chhukung-Lungdhen (on Renjo-la), Thagnak and Dzongla (Cho-la) and crossing high Mera-la and Amphu Lapachha will have basic facilities, and some areas away from human settlements require services of camping due to the absence of tea-house and lodge.

Why  Carry  Sleeping Bags:

While on treks it is much better to carry your own sleeping bags with inner linear for your own hygiene and comfort, where’s on local lodge on route warm quilt and blankets will be provided but due to severe cold climate, the blanket cleanness won’t be to your standard of hygiene, where good sleep on high altitude after daily walks is more important which you can find in your own sleeping bags and feel safe.

Drinks And Refreshment:

All Personal entertainment like Alcoholic Drinks or beer, Hot and Cold Drinks outside our tea house/ Lodges or in cafe will be at your own expenses.

Water:

In and Everest region, all drinking water provided on treks in lodge will be boiled and filtered as well our guide will make sure it’s completely boiled as water is the main cause of sickness on treks or in normal daily life, where we take great care in providing drinking water.

Most clients might bring purify tabs, but in Himalayan hard water contains much iron-calcium-magnesium and other minerals where purify tabs works only 30-40 % in hard Himalayan waters if you are planning to carry from home, to purify tap and stream waters for your water bottle.

The best way is to boil and filter the sediments to make it better for drinking water, some might add iodine but it only spoils the taste of natural water, might be hard to drink and swallow where boiled water will be the ultimate solution.

Some may buy bottled water, we do not encourage people to buy bottled water only in desperate situations, as these leads to garbage and much litter with pollution problem to get rid of plastic bottles unless re-cycled and it is much costly to buy bottled water on Everest Trek than in Kathmandu.

Hot drinks:
On treks where hot drinks from tea-coffee-hot lemon-drinking chocolate provided at breakfast-lunch and dinner beside main course where you can refresh yourself on walks having breaks for tea at your own cost.

Cold drinks:
Cold drinks available on treks in shops-stores and restaurant along the route where you can refresh yourself at own cost.

On your request, we can provide you with a separate local Sim Card (Most of the places have WiFi service available with an extra cost) for good access of connecting).

Altitude Sickness And Acclimatization:

Altitude sickness one of the most common symptoms faced by many trekkers, which leads to immediate treatment and should not be ignored. On this trek, where have designed the itinerary with acclimatization in two high places; Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.

Trek and altitude relatively moderate before reaching at Everest Base Camp or climb up to Kalapathar view hill top. At Namche Bazaar, trekkers can explore around famous Sherpa town and adjust with thin air and altitude.

With second-day acclimatization at Dingboche where climb leads to a ridge beyond the valley of Imjatse for stunning views of surrounding mountains, where our trek leader and guide are well trained and experienced on high altitude and they have extensive first aid and medical training as well to take care of you.
